Our Mission

We are dedicated to providing an innovative and sustainable seed portfolio for cereal and cattle farmers. Since 1949, we have been collaborating with farmers to respond to agricultural challenges and contribute to the changing agriculture that will feed future generations. We develop and produce high-performing maize and sunflower varieties, and offer a diversified crop portfolio, applied seed solutions and digital services that contributes to sustainable agriculture.

Our Purpose

Today, agriculture as we know it is changing… towards a better system that will not deplete our natural resources and compromise food production for future generations. At MAS Seeds, this principle is at the heart of everything we do. Our purpose is to ACT TOGETHER FOR A CHANGING AGRICULTURE.

We collaborate with our teams, our customers and our partners to encourage an agroecological transition that increases production efficiency, to substitute inputs and to promote an agricultural model that is more sustainable for future generations. Introducing a wide range of crops into the crop rotation to take full advantage of biodiversity is a great way to achieve this. In order to tackle the biggest agricultural challenge, water scarcity, we work with tropical hybrids to improve drought tolerance and provide agronomic expertise to ensure crop production. Reducing chemical inputs requires a combination of various measures, such as adapting crops in the rotation or employing hybrids that are resistant to diseases. Not only do we have solutions for each of these challenges today, we are also continuing to invest to deliver more measures in the future.

Climate change and environmental degradation are an existential threat to all of us, on every continent. At the same time, consumers are seeking a more sustainable approach to agriculture. This translates into a lower use of crop-protection products and fertilisers, and more attention to soil quality and biodiversity. Furthermore, the EU Green Deal is aiming to overcome the challenge of climate change and make our food systems more sustainable using a set of policy initiatives. At MAS Seeds®, we ACT TOGETHER FOR A CHANGING AGRICULTURE and are convinced that contributing to this transition is the way forward. MAS Seeds® proposes various agro-ecological solutions, an innovative and diversified seed portfolio, genetic innovations to tackle changing climates, applied seed solutions and agro-services that support EU policies to meet four key challenges:

1. CARBON & SOIL FERTILITY

Adapted cultural practices can help achieve a positive carbon balance, protect soil life and increase soil fertility.

2. PROTEIN & ENERGY AUTONOMY

Producing protein locally and high-quality forage on farms are an important part of food sovereignty and agroecology.

3. WATER & CLIMATE RESILIENCE

Growing crops amidst water scarcity requires adapted farming systems enhanced by resistant hybrids.

4. BIODIVERSITY

Landscape design with pollinators and using resistant hybrids is an efficient way to reduce chemical inputs.
